Trip to Jayuya, Puerto Rico!

Jayuya, (read as Hajuja), a small mountainous town in Puerto Rico, known for the Native Indian roots and the struggle for freedom. We went there as part of our son's school project. Here I am sharing some photos that we took during this trip...

Rainbows are so often seen in Puerto Rican sky, giving us hope for the future of this beautiful island

A beautiful waterfall that we saw on our way

This is a museum after the image of a Native Indian god, 'Semi'

Rio de Jayuya, the river of Jayuya

A huge ancient rock with Native Indian writings on it

Another Native Indian symbol, the Sun god

  2. love it... A small town striving to progress, yet in its progress, it also recognizes the past. They keep searching , celebrating and honoring their Taino Indian roots. So much to see, feel, taste and learn about this wonderful culture!
