Around three months ago, we left Puerto Rico to move to DC/Virginia. Reason was my desire to explore more, contribute at a larger platform, and most importantly provide opportunities for my son and I to learn new things.
I knew I was going to miss the island but I also knew many Puerto Rican had embarked upon a similar journey. I thought it would be easier for me because I was not even born here. Three months later, I am not sure if I miss the island any less than other Puerto Rican. Now I miss both India and Puerto Rico. If India gave me birth, Puerto Rico gave me the wings to fly!
