Music is in Puerto Rican blood

Starting from Thanksgiving Day, all the way to the 'Three Kings Day', Puerto Rican families find many different reasons to come together and share with each other. Family is a very big thing for Puerto Ricans and not only immediate family comes together but extended family members too get together to share and enjoy.

One thing that is common to most of the community/family gatherings in Puerto Rico is music and that too live music! Rhythm is generously gifted to the people of this island and music is in their blood. Let me show you a little example of casual get together in our house last year, my cousins of my husband demonstrate their passion…

And these are my son's friends that surprised us one evening, hope you like it too!

Isn't it fun to be in Puerto Rico during Christmas :-) Merry Christmas to all!

Lizards in Puerto Rico

I have a phobia for lizards, geckos and iguanas. While I was in India, we did have lizards who, many times, would come inside the house. However, in Delhi, my hometown, I didn't have to deal with the lizards so much and in winters they would almost vanish from the walls. That was one big reason because of which I waited for winters other than that it brought Christmas with it.

But since I have moved to Puerto Rico, I am learning to live with lizards. There are no winters here and there are lots of garden lizards… thankfully they rarely they enter inside the buildings. One can often see iguanas, huge herbivorous lizards, on the highways and near water bodies. I am sharing some photos of lizards and iguanas that I took in this beautiful tropical island in the Caribbean….
